couple of new mods
MAY 13, 2018
Like most vehicles I own, this motorcycle didn't stay the way I purchased it for long. As I previously mentioned, I purchased this bike used with less than 800 miles on it. The previous owner added three things: the NRC fender eliminator kit with turn signals, the Ducati Performance Seat, and the TechSpec Tank Grips.
The bikes I own are not only weekend toys but are also used to commute to and from work each day. One day while this bike was parked on the street in Manhattan, the left side mirror was broken off. The problem with that was the mirror also contained the turn signal. I could have easily replaced with the very expensive stock mirror, or go the aftermarket route. I decided on the latter. I still wanted the mirrors and signals to flow with the bike but be a bit more out of the way so I purchased a set of CRG Arrow Mirrors and Oberon Bar End Turn Signals.
Install was fairly easy and straight forward. The hardest part was taking off the front cowl to reroute the wires from the turn signal stalks into the clip-on handlebars. I figured since the front cowl was coming off, it'd also be a great opportunity to replace the factory windscreen. I went with a Zero Gravity Double Bubble Dark Smoke windscreen. It meshes well with the rest of the bike and helps a bit more with some of the helmet buffeting I would experience at higher speeds.
